Not wanting Avery to get glued to games and TV 24/7, I arrange and balance her fun time and study time during the long year end holidays.
For instant, beside giving her some random spelling / ejaan / 听写 (Tīngxiě) every night, I got additional Year 1 exercise books from book store to coach her.

This kiasu mama only concentrates on work books and had totally forgotten to get some bedtime story books. Till recently... we received a pleasant surprise from Little Sprouts' mama.

Avery was the happiest upon seeing her all-time favourite heroins story books - The Powerpuff Girls.

Little Chi was excited as well while flipping over his new Mickey Mouse Clubhouse book.
Frankly, Avery was a little sulky when I overloaded her with dictations. These Christmas presents came early (and in time) and my girl can enjoy both learning and leisure :D
She repeatedly asked, "How do I thank Aunty Alice?", and my reply, "Take great care of the books and read them to your brother every night" *wink*
p/s: Alice, I can no other answer make, but, thanks, and thanks for your thoughtfulness and generosity. You are our heroin....

So sweet of Alice with her gifts to keep your Big Chii & Lil Chi occupied during the long break. True out of touch out of mind can roughly remember one of my junior years forgot the spelling of certain words already. haha.

ReplyDeleteWhat anice Christmas gifts from Alice. Hope they are having fun with the books then.
ReplyDeleteYou terbalik with me... I just buy story books for Chloe so that she can keep herself occupied by reading on her own. I'm too lazy to guide her with workbooks :p I guess next year, I will have to do the same.
ReplyDeleteAlice is such a thoughtful friend for getting so many nice books for Avery and Little Chi :)

ReplyDeletehaha, no wonder you have been so busy recently, because the kids are on school holidays and you have more time to face them at home~~ :D

ReplyDeleteoh, i am impressive with Avery's attitude.. she kept on asking how to thank Aunty Alice?? hmmm, i have a suggestion lah.. why not get her to draw a thank you card for Aunty Alice?? in that way she can have both the fun of drawing at the same time doing something meaningful mah.. and i'm sure Alice will sure love the card~~ :)
ReplyDeleteI bought a few exercise books for my son to do during this school holiday too.
